About us

Centre for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies (CARS) was established on 21st February, 2007 as the research group. As of 1st October, 2014 it was converted into the independent organizational unit subordinated directly to the Dean of Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw. CARS Director is Prof. Dr. Tadeusz Skoczny.

CARS activity concentrate on widely understood issues of competition and consumer protection and pro-competitive and pro-consumer sector-specific regulations in market economy. In this respect CARS is conducting interdisciplinary scientific research and development (R+D) projects and preparing scientific reports, publishing books and periodicals, holding scientific conferences, patronizing post-graduate studies, running Open PhD Seminars, organising training courses and cooperating with similar research units in Poland and in foreign countries.

Annually „CARS Award” is also being offered.

A member of CARS may be each person who declares a readiness to participate in CARS activity as a Regular Member, Associate Member or Permanent Co-operator. Currently, a new category of Supporting Members is being established.

CARS Regular Members

Regular Members are members of the Faculty of Management. Such a status may be attributed to professors and persons with a doctor’s degree. At the moment about 20 Regular Members of CARS are active.

CARS Associate Members

Associate Members are domestic and foreign researchers holding at least a doctor’s degree. Currently, more than 30 Associate Members are active.

CARS Permanent Co-operators

Permanent Co-operators are young researchers (without a doctor’s degree yet) and persons employed in domestic or international authorities or public organizations, in large regulated businesses, legal firms, consulting companies, etc.
